TTA Reunion Aug. 2011 in Ohio? Yes? No? Maybe? Post your thoughts/ideas

OK boys... I'm on the hunt to make a TTA reunion one way or another sometime in the near future whatever it takes. I just think it would be so amazing to bring a bunch of TTA's together finally after 20 years.

I've been talking with Sean Ryder the chairman of the BPG. http://www.buickperformancegroup.com/ He is willing to work with us in any way he can to make an event like a TTA reunion work. While the TA nats give the dirty nose to the TTA's I say screw them and let's do this event at a place that will take it in with open arms and do it right! BPG can make this happen and make the people that run the TA nats wish they had us there!

Who would actually bring their TTA out is the main question. I for one would without a doubt. They have a great area for a car show there and I'd even go as far as getting some tents or whatever it takes to make it happen.

So the tentative date(s) would be August 4th 5th 6th and 7th. The official TTA show would be on the Saturday the 6th. The venue would be National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. http://www.nationaltrailraceway.com/

I think it would be awesome to have 100 TTA's or even more show up. They just had a GSX reunion that had 80 some cars come out. I think the TTA's would do better because there hasn't been a group of TTA's together like that in years.

We have to start the planning now and get everything hashed out so this time next year we can promote this and get the word out all over. This gives us almost 2 years to make an amazing event!

So post away your comments good or bad. We will need everyone's input on this to make it happen!

well it is a go as far as the BPG is concerned,,,even have a theme....

Buick Performance T Party...bring your TTA's and Turbo T types.....get no respect...from other Pontiacs....do the GN's keep you in the shadows... now is your time to shine,,,,

Jim and I had talked about doing it in 2010 but I felt with the stage 1 convention the TTA's and Turbo T's would still be in the background....you are more than welcometo attend in 2010 and if you get at least 8 cars you can have your own TTA Drag Race Event....

Now that's the kinda attitude I like to see/hear! Come on boys lets make some history! I'm going to drop some contacts all any and all magazines I know. See if we can get some major coverage for this!

As for all the "not being accepted by Pontiacs" BS, I think it's a little out of line. I posted about being turned down by one person, Sue Emmel, who runs that Trans Am Nationals and in my opinion is just the opposite of a true Pontiac enthusiast. The only reason I even looked at working with her is because it's the largest Trans Am show in the world and I chose it for the cars.

A true Pontiac enthusiast, like those who run the Pontiac Nationals, are very easy to work with and I'm sure would be more than willing to accommodate us.

I've been to the BPG Nationals and had a great time.

Yea well Sue can put this event in her pipe and smoke it when we have over 100 TTA's show up at the BPG event. I'll make damn sure I have Pontiac enthusiast magazine show up and do a article on this event as well. She will love what I will have to say about the TA nats. Every Pontiac show I've been to they give the brown eye to the TTA. So guess what. We will have our time to shine and show them off in mass in Ohio in 2011! Those people at the TA nats are just jealous that the TTA was the best Pontiac ever made!

This is one Pontiac family that will be there to enjoy a sat. with 100 TTA's. I don't care where it is. The CAR is the STAR.

I'm loving this feedback guys! We have to pass the word and get it out! Could you even picture say 2 or 300 TTA's in one spot!! wow! Hell 500 TTA's! I know we could do it if we keep after this and keep it going!

Smiley: We were thinking next year but they are doing a stage 1 event. I think the TTA's would get lost at that event. But the following year (the year we want to do the TTA reunion) they are having a T type reunion. We all thought the TTA's would flow better with the T type event. PLUS.. I want to really promote this and get the word out. This gives people a good 2 years to get transportation vehicles and plan this trip out if they have to schedule off work or save up money to come. I'd like to work with Sean and give awards for the furthest traveled as well. There was a couple there with 2 GS's they drove from Washington state! I'd love to get some of those Cali TTA's out to this!
