Owners Kit on TGO

Let's not get crazy. It's just a case that once he realized it was worth more than $100 he wanted to get more. No harm in that and everyone of us would want whatever we could get.

It's like Pawn Stars when someone comes in and want $200 for an item. The expert says it's worth $2000 ... now the person wants $2000 and is insulted by the offer of $200 that they would had taken earlier.

I went as high as offering a fully restored and rare radio for his car but that didn't close the deal. I'm now out of the bidding and I will sell him the radio when and if he wants to spend the cash to get it.

We might be able to still work on the CD deal that you have. If you send me pictures this deal still could happen. I still want the CD player and I do not fully expect to get high dollar but a trade could still be a deal we could work out. You would get something you want and I get somthing I want. Money is just a another form of trade. I will email you today.
 
I am really sorry i even brought this to everyone's attention with all the grief it has caused. I guess its not for sale or trade anymore.
 
I never posted it for sale but I was just looking for a trade. I do know that it should be with one of the 89 Trans Ams and not doing anything but sitting here. I do not like ebay for several reasons so it will not end up there for a while. When somene comes up with a good trade then we have something. I wanted a CD but I also am looking for a few other item for my 89 IROC.
Trading usually works out easier for parties since we all find deals. If anyone wants to see it in person I will be at a large swapmeet in Belleville, Il this Sunday. It is a pretty big meet mosty GM stuff. I will keep my eyes peeled for other items for the TTA and thrid gens.

Here is a black box for the 1989 trans am pace car anniversary, good cond with some wear, look at pics to see what is included, I know for sure that the windshield decal is missing, the key fob, leather cover for the manual and the cassette tape. These rarely come up for sale so bid accordingly
 
I have all the records for the low mileage car the paper saying it was inspected an all ... I found a plastic key that is cut for emergency use only in a grey plastic pouch ... just wondering if anyone else has these items
 
The key was part of the Vinyl Owners Manual Cover along with the three Pontiac Insert Here Business sized cards.

Notice the "TRANS AM" and Firebird on the key.

I have the key, black pouch and the 3 business insert cards here in my owners kit. Mine does not have the picture of the cool 80's people with the sweaters and jackets. I am missing that.

the 80's people with clothes are preferated cut out many people riped it off
 
I think that the days of the 1000 dollar owner kit are over. Maybe now we will see some more realistic pricing. You are right KMan - 500 bucks and it was missing half the owner's kit. What a ripoff.

The one for $500 was not worth it since you would have to buy another kit to even come close to having a complete one. I thought the one for $700 would have been a better deal but this time of the year everyone is needing extra $. Items are only worth what someone is willing & able to pay. My box is mire complete & better shape, the $700 one is still expensive for a kit you just stare at.

Maybe someone should change the threads on the forums for current market value now & how much more the TTA is with the og owners kit. I saw several post the car is worth $1000 more with it. My research for "value" was based off threads through Google searches that brought me here. Those two on eBay may have found the same info?

I bought mine since I thought it was cool & possibly could trade it. I truly would like to see it with a TTA owner. Never went the eBay route also only one guy seems to be on the up & up with wanting it. I paid $40, so I can afford to store it in the nigthstand forever.

here was .my theory. Hawk's sells the decals reproduction for $200. My kit is missing original shipping box, shirts order form & windshield decal. I know mine is more complete & worth more than $200 I fell it is worth $400-$500.
 
Nope, no eBay here and I don't even use PayPal anymore. Tired of all the fees, IRS and scams and like I said, timing has a lot to do with it. I will just sit on it until I feel like it is time to pass it on. I will get more involved with these cars and regret getting rid of it if I don't feel like it is a fair deal....
eBay is great for most items but I am not desperate to sell it.
 
I wasnt suprised those kits didnt sell. With the economy the way it is, everything is undervalued now, even the cars. The kit was an important part of buying my car, I really wanted to have a kit. But every person is different and wants different accessories. I have no desire what so ever for a pedal car, but thats just me. That might be really important to another buyer. As its been said before, an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. As for reproduction decals, yes you can get them, but IMO nothing replaces "original" if its available.
 
My thought is that thing are now "normal" valued vs overvalued before....I mean come on $1000 for a cardboard box!!:wall:

I dont have young kids, but I'm thinking if someone does, maybe they would like the car-but then again the kids probably arent allowed to play with it-they have to ride in the "Barbie" jeep. lol

I have a nice TTA to sell to you 89IROC to go along with your nice Owner's kit. I only have about $8K in it and I would prefer to sell it to someone who has an Owner's kit already. Let's say $40K. Sound like a fair price to you?
