Turbo upgrade?

What turbo would be an upgrade from the stock one, nothing super crazy?

Totally agree with the smaller turbo's in your case.

I bet if you get a small turbo you will be upgrading sooner than later though. lol Wait till you feel the difference @ wot after 4000 rpm in boost.lol

Turbo's are like guns. First, oh play it conservative... I will get the 22 cal., then I wanted the 9mm and now I want a 40 cal. S&W

Welcome :arab:

I don't know if you meant too, but I couldn't help but laugh out loud when you mentioned guns then used the "arab" smiley.

:idea5:

So you guys r saying stay with the stock turbo and get alky? I'm gonna be running 60# injectors fuel pump and heavier valve springs also

I'd get a powerlogger first and foremost.

Then I would get alky, the 60's, new FP and hotwire kit, AFPR, and new valvesprings/timing chain, along with an RJC boost controller.

Run mid 12's with that setup and when you want to go faster, spend the $4000 for a new trans, converter, and turbo all at once.

My 6152 lunched the trans in less than 10 passes.

Thanks, I'm going with the 60s and chip from turbo tweak, the high pressure pump, I got the rjc boost controller. Still looking for alky kit. ur saying I should get alky kit before everything else?

Main thing is DO NOT turn the boost up on pump gas without alky, unless you want a lesson in rebuilding eng's, so yes that is the first thing you buy :explosion:

Correct. Get the 60's, springs, timing chain, fuel pump, and hotwirekit at the same time as a new chip and alky.

Can't stress the importance of the timing chain mod. PITA to pull the from cover but much safer than rollin on nylon gears..... I HATE coolant!

yeah the timing chain is a PITA mostly because it is messy. Coolant drips all over the place, you have to clean the face of the motor to remove the old gasket without getting any in the oil pan. I did it on my driveway a few years ago while on jack stands. It sucked but like Jason says waaaaay easier than doin the motor. The crank bolt is tough to get off I think its torqued to 220 ft/lbs you'll need a long wrench.
