I picked up a 1980 Pontiac TA at a Police auction here in Columbus Ohio. The car was a seizure on a drug arrest. There is no body damage to this car. Could use new paint as it has been painted, but it is weathered. Everyone at the auction was convinced that the motor was seized ...but I got there early and found a push button start. I attached a battery and the engine turned over. Put my battery away and bid on the car and won. I also purchased 2 other cars. I got the car home.... and cleaned up the carb... cranked it and it fired right up and sounds MEAN. There is transmission trouble as I found the tranny cover missing.... and it wont shift into gear. I am far from a motor head... and need to get rid of it. The engine code (I hope) is 411930 and below that is DS. Can anyone email me what that engine is? I have been trying to find it online and am having no luck.
