does anybody know the whereabouts of this car??? it was built and given away as a contest car in 1989 or 1990. featured in Hot Rod Magazine July 89......
 
Ignition upgrade,headers,convertor,PROM tweak, netting this bad bird a "neck snapping" 14.73

Funny what passed for "fast" back in the 80's.

Our 92 'vert T/A is a TPI car and I love the feel of it launching across an intersection.

I've always wanted to do a boosted TPI 355 or 383. 8-12psi off a procharger and an LS ECM conversion would make that car pretty competitive and should overcome it's poor intake design.

it seams like this car has is pretty much MIA. i'd like to think its just stashed away in someone's garage and waiting to be discovered. there hasn't been any sighting's of it in more then a decade. i'm pretty sure it still exist's out there somewhere.....

Huh? that’s odd, my '88 Formula 350 that I had for a short period after high school was bone stock and running 14.77@ on BFG comp T/A's & Sunoco Ultra 94. A buddy who would go to the track with me had a nice copper color GTA with a homemade CAI and no CAT, was running 14.5 depending on air.
 
That's what the article said about it...I don't doubt other of the assembly line cars ran as fast or faster.

There's an 89 Red hdt GTA that runs at our track pretty consistent at 14.6 +. Dont think it's been modded much either.

Just funny what "we" used to think was fast in the 80's.

My 89 305 5spd GTA with only a 3" exhaust (with cat) and a K&N would outrun a 350 TPI IROC, 350 TPI GTA and most 5.0 mustangs. I could even outrun vettes if they were a shitty driver. Those cars were fun! I think mine would of ran a 14.40 easy.
 
Don't know where it went to,
But I had a few photos of it, at the SeaFair nationals way back then.
I used one photo in my book. ;)

i have seen that car too. they did copy the paint design on that TTA but it is not the same car. the Snake's GTA did surface for sale sometime back in the 90's, why i didn't buy it then is beyond me. (enter kick myself in the A$$ here) oh well, maybe someday soon.....
