They will definitely use the name trans am again. It has made $$$$$$$ for them before and the brand is well established. I studied marketing. Why use a new brand that no one has ever heard of (doubtless it would have to be some incomprehensible series of letters like RAV-4 or SAV-7). New brands require much more money for ads.
Now, will the car actually be worthy of the name? probably not. Now we have 4 door dodge chargers that run 17 second 1/4 mi. AT THIS RATE, THE NEW TA WILL PROBABLY BE AN SUV!!!! They had some nerve using the GTO name on that car that is actually a Grand Prix with rear wheel drive. It is a wonderful car mechanically, but the exterior styling is too bland. At least it isn't objectionable, like the new jap cars with their slanted headlights, so severely slanted that they extend 2/3 of the way back to the a pillars. And at least it isn't a lame cartoonish copy of, say, the the 68 GTO. Some of these retro cars are insults to the cars they pretend to imitate. They could probably do well with a copy of the 65 goat, because that one was actually boxy to begin with. So a boxy looking copy would look good. And who ever heard of making a dodge charger with 4 doors! Come on!!!! That is not a dodge charger. Those bastards. They actually destroyed the credibility of the charger brand. It was legendary for 40 years and they just flushed it down the toilet with these cheap 4 door entry level low rent acccountants car. And most of them have powerless v6 engines. And they get terrible gas mileage. Worse than a Corvette. So, there are no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
If you will excuse me I am going to jump off a bridge.
