a TTA for $50K?

Lots of low milers popping up lately.

Looks very clean in the pictures. Knock off $100 so I can purchase rear hatch struts and I'll take it for 49,900. JK lol

Does anyone know of any of these low milers have actually sold for anything near the asking price? (Like the "barn find" and a few others that have been on ebay?)
 
Looks like the rear bumper is a different color and the door guards are filthy in the picture with the fender emblem. hmm
 
rediculous Price IMO, I bet mine has been better maintained over the years. The bumper stops on the door look corroded. Mine sure don't. Mine has many more miles but the original paint still looks great. These no mile cars are kinda silly for the price, but hey I guess it may make our cars "price" or "value" higher.
 
Driving my TTA has given me so much joy over the years, I feel sorry for the poor guy. I wonder if he knows what he is missing. I'm not too far from him, maybe I should offer to take him for a ride......
 
I'm not sure I'd even want to buy a 24 year old car with less than 10,000 miles or so on it. The 34k that #1525 has is actually kinda the sweet spot for my personal preference.
 
There are a lot of guy's that find out the hard way , 2000 miles or 100k, they still need the same thing's... and both are high maint., you play you pay...
 
Yeah I could never buy a car that's 24 years old and just expect to drive it like it's a new car with the same mileage, whatever that mileage may be. #1525 is getting a complete inspection the second she rolls into town, and I am planning on having $2k into her above my purchase price within 6 months. That's just the price of admission with an old car.

My current daily drive is a white 1990 base model V6 with aero package. I paid $1,500 for her with 48k miles, and I've got about twice that much more in parts and labor getting repairs done because the car sat for 10 years. You just can't let a car sit and rot like that.
 
I agree, these are old cars. No matter what the mileage is. If it is driven some the failing parts will start showing up. So this Forum is great to find out about the repairs and parts needed!
 
I looked at a few ultra low mile cars along with those under 20K and decided I didn't wan't to worry about driving my car. When you buy an ultra low mile collector car every mile you drive costs you a little money. I can't just sit and look at it. I wish I could!

My philosphy all along has been buy a car with mid range mileage, pay what the going rate is for that type of car related to the mileage (not just TTA's, basically any F body), and enjoy driving it without feeling guilty racking up some miles.

I guess I was lucky with my purchase, the car had been gone over already and I have basically driven it for 3 yrs with just maintenance and doing exhaust. Its had a few quirks but nothing major.

I could not image owning a low mile one, just sitting in a garage as an "ornament". A good part of the enjoyment of the TTA is the DRIVE!

I dont think its good for any car to sit for years and have no miles put on it. You are just asking for issues if and when you decide to sell or drive it.
