backlit steering wheel controls

Can anyone help? Steering wheel controls work fine but the back lighting quit working. For a while they would come and go, now they just went. Where do I start looking for the cause? How does power get to the bulb(s)?
Anyone?

I believe it's fiber optics, but I'm not 100% positive. If so it would be similar to what's used in audio known as a digital or TOSlink connection. If there was a break some where the light won't be able to continue its path.

That control panel is just held in by Velcro. Pull it off and check the connection. Does the controls still work? I'd have to look at my spare but I think there is small lamps in them. Ron could be right though it's been awhile.

Yeah, I remember buying a set for a spare and it is just velcro attaching it (unlike the cars of today with such modern things as airbags). :wall:

Eh, could be. DontKnow: I recal fibre optics having to do something with the wheel controls.

Haha they match the dash! Should come on when you turn the headlights on.
