I need a bulb for the driver side foglight, it is dimmer than the other side, bulb must be going out. Where can you get the stock bulb? Might as well change them both!
Haven't checked but you should be able to get them at the local parts store. I think stock is 55W. I remember putting 100W and using them as driving lights but I got a lot of flashing headlights from the other direction. I replaced the regular headlights with Silverstar. Those will be harder to find nowadays.
Ron, I got those Silverstar headlights and they are great! Rock Auto has a wagner bulb for the foglights that is 80% brighter than the orig. ones. Like you said it might be too bright for the on coming traffic.
I also may have angled the fogs up a little trying to make them into headlights. Think those 100W bulbs are still sitting in a drawer in my toolbox.
I've used the Silverstars on my last 2 Bonnie SSEi. Great improvement for the price. Went and bought some for my newer DD Buick and wouldn't you know it...the newer the car the bigger the PITA to work on! Even though the battery isn't under the hood I decided to call it quits after already removing a large plastic shroud, the ENTIRE airbox (which contains the ECM for some odd reason), and then realizing the passenger side was going to require a LOT more work. Just to change a bulb! Had a tail light out and even that was a PITA. My brother is a GM Master Tech and the more I work on newer cars the more I'm amazed at what he does everyday.
