Auto icon Carroll Shelby just passed away. What a life that guy had up until the day he passed. Lots of excitement for the American auto makers came from him and he will be missed.

Shelby had a lot of influence with me an cars. We have had/have a lot of his "creations" over the years. RIP Mr. Shelby. Oh I bought this 427 Cobra on the day he died 36 years ago !!

He was great to talk to,
In person.
Met him quite a few times at SEMA almost every year.
I remember standing in a huge line for autographs, at SEMA, in the Ford section, and when I got there in front of him, I handed him my hardbound Dodge Viper book to sign.
The "bouncers" said he couldn't sign it, but he told them to just go away, and then he signed it, and told me, in front of all the Ford people, how he had the most fun with the Vipers, and how much he loved them.
He will be missed.

Quote of the day "the car make's the name, the name don't make the car ".. Carroll Shelby; jan 11th, 1923- may 10th, 2012. i have never been a Ford fan but you gotta love this guy, he built the first Cobra the yr i was born -1962

I figured the price of a '13 Shelby would have gone way up but the dealers here are still selling for msrp. Also I wonder if you buy a new Shelby will it come signed or not?? Did he sign all the dash boards before he past away or did he sign them as the cars were built??

And ya Rob I missed the three hour special lol, I miss a lot of stuff. I am not on Facebook either and never know what the heck is happening in my social circle.
