Creaks, Rattles and Leaks

I just bought an 89 TTA, and am generally very happy with it. Its a beautiful car and runs great, especially on the highway. However, it has a TON of creaks and rattles while on the road...I really have to crank my radio to even hear it. Also, when going about 80 mph or faster, there is a lot of wind noise coming from (I think) the T-Tops.

Does anyone know of a good way to sound-proof the vehicle to get rid of some of these creaks and rattles? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Also, on another note, I went thru a car wash today and ALMOST DROWNED!!! The T-Tops leak REALLY BAD! Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Welcome aboard! wow sounds like you'll need to replace all the rubber gaskets on your baby! That will help in the squeak department and should help keep the water out! Hopefully you don't have rust from the leaking gaskets. These cars squeek and rattle as it is but those gaskets will get you started. Should all be in stock at your local GM dealer.

Thanks Jim...I appreciate your advice! Took it to a dealer today to get the gaskets fixed. By the way...I just started a new thread on performance modifications and would very much appreciate your input!

Thanks!

Congrats on your new toy!
Sounds like you love it!
All these cars, as well as all thirdgens creak and rattle.
It just the nature of the beast. In this case, the beast is the 20th TTA! Ha!

Sounds like things will come together for you.

George
