Some of you who were on the old TTA mailing list before the Internet blossomed and became as 'fun' as it is today might remember Dal Slabaugh. I've been going through some of my stash of NOS parts I've got to refresh my memory on what I've actually got on hand (and don't have to order), and I came across a few things I bought through Dal. He was a parts wizard at VanDevere Buick/Olds in Akron, OH....he built a stellar reputation for helping people find what they needed, and making sure they got it fast......I never met him, but the link I included below confirms what I always suspected - he probably sold more parts around the country than anyone who worked for a GM dealer at that time. Sounds like UPS trucks were lined up around the block daily !
Today after coming across one of the shipping boxes I got from him, I thought I'd do a search and find out where he retired to.....and Iearned he passed away in May of this year in Brooksville, FL. Glad to see he made it to someplace warm! I always loved his email address: [email protected]
Thanks to Dal, I've got a brand new, in the box, GM factory replacement power antenna for my TTA.
Rest in Peace Dal....I hope they've got some super cool stuff to work on up there, and a few US Marines around to make sure no one takes off with your parts stash !
