East Bound and Down......

So I chickened out driving TTA 365 all the way to Ohio so I'm hauling it. Atleast this way I can have tires on the back for any racing.

We left my place a noon on sat and went to mount Rushmore today!! It was really cool wish I had gone down the big slide. The hill was tough to pull the car up as it was 86 *F out. I wonder if any other TTA's have been up there to see the presidents faces?? In the pic the faces are hard to see but that was the best pic I could get with the sun in my way.

Tomorrow we are going to the American dream machines dealership in Des moines Iowa. They have cool cars for sale from the 50s and 60s. Then we are off to Chicago and then Hebron. Can't wait!!!

I am not sure what takes more balls, driving to Ohio or towing with a Jeep!

Good move, now you can race with no excuses.... :)

I hope that Jeep has the V8 atleast.
 
You probably just drove by me today in Minnesota.. Too bad you didn't get here a day earlier. Car craft summer nationals just ended yesterday. GNX 001 was there.

Make sure you keep track of your miles you might win the award for the furthest trailered to Ohio!!! :) Looks great can't wait to see it in person!
 
Jim my gf can give you all the milage, she did most of the route planning. Mike where is the safest place/ hotel in Chicago, don't want any trouble in the big city!!

The closest we came to Minnesota was sioux falls in ND, we then went south to Sioux city and then DES moines Iowa to the ADM dealership. Alotta cool cars there, one red 68 firebird very nice. I was so awe struck at all the killer cars I forgot to take pics!!!! Doug the boss man there gave us the nickel tour of the garage and a little history of all the cars. My gf was telling him about the TTA reunion and how we were on our way to Hebron OH.

Here's some pics of the outside. Hopefully I'm not so taken aback by all your guys's TTA's that I remember to take pics for friends at home...,

Chicago is a big city, let me know where you plan to stay and I can suggest somewhere. My garage is empty right now. :)
 
If you are driving i-80 east to I-65 on your way through Chicago to Hebron, there is a brand new Hilton Garden Hotel just North of I-80 off the LaGrange/US 45 Exit in Tinley Park/Mokena. There are actually two nice hotels there, Country Inn and the Hilton Garden and a Texas Roadhouse in the complex as well.
 
I would assume you are coming down I90. If so you can take 355 down and there are a lot of places to stay that are nice. Then you can take 355 down to 80 to go East. 355 will be about 25 miles west of downtown. So I guess it depends if you wanted to be in downtown Chicago to see the sites. But there are a lot of nice places in the suburbs.

Oh ok. Thanks for sharing the pics! Drive safe and have fun. I wish I could make the reunion, but it just wasn't in the cards for me. :bye2:

I have a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with the 3L diesel ..... I have an inclosed 22 foot with a 78 vette in it, has no problem staying at the speed limits, up hill too, and according to the computer, gets 16 mpg doin it !! WAY better than the Dodge Ram 1500 with the Hemi I had, couldn't get 16 going down hill with a tail wind !! LOL ... we really love our Jeep .. oh and yep it is black too !! it's an Alberta thing LOL
 
So we tried to stay right downtown but no good parking for the tta so we left to stay at a random Hilton. To my surprise a beauty pageant is being held here and there's girls EVERYWHERE!! Don't get me wrong I love my gf, we just don't ever get these kinda things back home. Wow!!

Today we ate going on a dining tour and then a Segway tour of Chicago!!
Should be fun.

I have seen your girlfriend and she is a keeper for sure. I keep saying I am going to do the Segway tour downtown, but keep putting it off. Hope you had fun.
