Great visit to Dallas Tx

Excellent stay in Dallas this time around, got to see 5 really nice TTA's and meet some great new faces and put a face to the name of several great people on this board and tb.com for the first time!

Got to ride in a DeLorean for the first time as well, thanks Chris !!!

Have a brand new torque converter in my suitecase (damn that thing is heavy - 40lbs ... will be interesting when I check in tomorrow at the airport). Ceramic coated headers, downpipe and x-over (brought them with me and handed them over to Mike @ Specialized Performance Coating in Arlington, thanks for the recommendation Rob, will post pictures of them and let you all know how they turned out). ARP header bolts and some other ARP bolts I need ... forgot a skateboard for my son as well ...

Will post some photos when I'm back home

If you got to ride in a DeLorean, why didn't you go back in time, and buy a hardtop TTA new? ;)
So, are you the one to blame for bringing tornados back to London, from your visits to the USA? ;)
I had my car with 3 other TTAs, but that was years ago. I have pictures somewhere.
Do show the pictures when you get back.

The DeLorean only took me back to 1908 ... guess I should have bought that fisrt T-Ford rolling off the assembly line :cry: O'well next time :cowboy:

Sounds like you had a blast and got to take home alot of really cool goodies....

Cant wait to see those pics....
 
Sounds like you had a lot of fun. Sometime if you're visiting the Northern side of the country let me know, there's a lot of stuff to do in this area especially car related stuff.

Got some nice goodies in my back, and thanks again for the button! Hopefully one day we can hook up as well!

Will post photos within the next day or so just have to upload the stuff to a page on my site.

Jared, where do you live? I used to travel all over the US and made anything from 10 - 15 trips a year before I changed job last year and only do maybe 4 trips to any of our main offices in the US .... however my son and I plan to do a road trip for next year and would be nice to hook up with as many TTA owners as possible on that trip .... just have to plan it carefully
 
I live right by South Bend, Indiana. I'll list some of the areas that you guys may be interested in that's somewhat close to me

South Bend - Football Hall of Fame, Notre Dame, Studebaker Museum
Indianapolis - 3 hours south, IMS
Chicago - about 2 hours west depending on traffic
Detroit - 3 hours north, Henry Ford Museum
Auburn, IN - 2 hours south east has the Auburn and Dusenburg museum which was mentioned in this months Hotrod magazine, also depending on when you're coming for 2 weeks a year they have one of the largest classic car auctions in the world.
Sandusky, OH - Home of like 5 of the top 10 tallest rollercoasters at Cedar Point.

plus there's about 20 drag strips within 3 hours. It's pretty much the center of the automotive industry. If you're planning on coming within about 3 hours or so of me let me know I'd be more than willing to drive out and meet up somewhere. Plus next year I should have a trailer and I may be willing to travel farther then if we have a nice large gathering of TTAs.
 
Thx Jared, I'm looking to see what route to take spending about 14 days in total but not have to rush and spend all 14 days in the car :-) Indy is defenitly something I'd like to do, my meeting last week in Dallas was originaly schedulled for our Cincinatti office .... guess where I planned to go over the weekend :-)

How long of a drive would there be from Boston to Indy? I could fly into Boston then drive via Indy etc down to Tx?

Cheers Jan, glad you made it home. Be sure to let the TTA community know the next time you're travelling back over the pond.
When I went to Hawaii I met up with the local Oahu Buick club at the track and met about 12 folks over there with TRs and one TTA....was the highlight of my Hawaii trip :) It rained all day the rest of the time we were there.

Maybe now I'll drive back to California, and visit Fuddruckers! ;)

Agree, girls better at Texas Loosey's, not been there since May :-) Plenty of Fuddruckers out in Tx even one at the airport airside ... great burgers remember when we went to that car show in Irvine with Lisa :cheers:

I remember!
Too bad it was raining, I was going to take my car to the show.
If it wouldn't have rained, there would have been alot more cars there.
usually, between 2-3 TTA are there.
Now, what is this about a road trip?

George, my son and I are looking for next year to do a longer road trip accross the US ... trying to work out where to go without ending up just driving and not seeing anything :-)

Az is on the list and we would defenitly stop by Kingman for a couple of nights, love those Route 66 roads and places you took me a couple of years back .... and we need to catch up as well. I'm out in Ca (Huntington Beach) in November and will probabrly stay the weekend as well in case I need to do some shopping :-) ... I'll give you the dates a bit closer maybe we can hook up for a trip to Texas Looseys or a junk yard trip :teehee:

If you are planning around August, you should check out the TA Nationals.
Let me know when you are back in Los Angeles, I may be able to go out that way.
I will be there during the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
