Are these cars supposed to have a heater control valve in the heater hose by the firewall somewhere? Just curious because mine does not and there is a vacuum line back there not attached to anything. Thanks.
Joe
What plastic vacuum lines come out of the harness? I see two- one is going to a vacuum source on the intake, I'm assuming this is going to the ac controls but the car isn't running at the moment for me to verify. The other one is coming out of the harness right around the heater core area of the firewall and is going to nothing. This is the one I assumed may have been for a heater control valve. Thanks!

I see what you are talking about now though. There are 2 coming out of the harness. The one is capped off on my car. You can see it in the first pic behind the red and blue wires.
Ok, yeah, I see that now as well. That one isn't capped in mine. I'll toss a cap on it. Too many "hands" have been in there over the last 27 years, I'm just trying to get it all right. It is a modded car with a standone efi and such, I expect things to be altered but some of it was just hack work so I redid the wiring and such and am just cleaning it up now.
While on this topic, does anybody know where I can buy the HVAC control switch disc that is located behind the center console control? It's the little plastic disc that plugs into the vacuum lines on the gel connector. These wear out over time and leak. GM discontinued them a long time ago. I haven't found these listed at Rock Auto, Classic Industries or Advance Auto Parts.
