Hey George! Here?s a tough one for you!

One guy here in Sweden keeps telling me that Camaro builded some cars with the Buick 3.8 in, you know anything about it?

This is just about what he tould me:

"For a few years ago I was sitting and reading and came into a discussion where the guys (USA) tould me that Camaro actually builded these cars but stopped the production since it didn?t have a Chevy engine. They are VERY expensive and low production #, and I know that Trans Am has the engine."

Actually he never tould me what year he was talking about but i?m gonna check that up.

Thanks!

Hi Uffe!
No Chevy ever came with the Turbo V-6 3.8 engine. As for the regular V-6 3.8 engine, I know that the fourth gens came with it (known as the 3800 series engine), and some second gen cars.
In 1981, Pontiac had that engine as the base Firebird engine. I was thinking of using the engine mounts from that one, and building a Turbo V-6 into my 1981 Turbo Trans Am!

Great hearing from you,

George

Hello George!

Thanks for your answer!
I had a hard time to belive what he was writing.
He saw this on a big forum, Chevelle something...... and there was a guy there that had a homepage with these cars. Never mind...... just bla, bla, bla.......

HA! BTW, just found that up in north Sweden we have a 80-81 Turbo T/A Convertible!
Maybe you know how many where ordered in Conv.?

Take care! 8)

Hello again Uffe!
I was told that about roughly 200 cars total ( which is all F-bodies, Camaro and Firebird) were done each year! So, about 40 trans Ams.
Mine was by NCE. Do you know if that is the same company that did that one? My number plate is one the inner panel of the inside door jam, on the car's body. Driver's side.
I would love to find out more about his car.

See ya,

George

Have not heard anything more about the Turbo T/A conv. but one guy gave me a phone nr. to a GN owner here in Sweden and after a while he tould me that he owns a -68 GTO 400" Ram Air conv. 114 made and he has 4 on the floor, 92 made!
he tould me that one just went for $650000 in USA!!!!!!!
You can look at the pics but never mind about the reading...... it?s in Swedish! He is working with translation to English.......
