how quick are our TTAs???????

I have had several 87 GNs..low mile and stock!

This TTA I have seems WAY MORE quicker than my GNs.

Maybe its just me but this thing SCREAMS, and its totally 100% stock.

300 some HP from the factory. GN was way under stock. GNX made 275 I believe. But the TTA was lighter and faster. Headers helped, More fins per row on the IC, better aero dynimic's, (GN is like launching a brick down the road!!) some more chip work from Pontiac, heads were different better flowing. Although they changed the heads just to get them to fit inbetween the strut towers. So all those things help allot to blow away a stock GN compaired to a stock TTA. Wanna really have some fun, do some mods you can't see but feel.. Walboro 340 pump, Hot wire kit, Different chip, downpipe, hollow out the cat, and hold on to your a$$! lol The nice part about the TTA's is you can spend a few grand on mods.. and get them into the 10's very easy. And run them all day long! But.. mine is stock and it's stayin that way. I have a GN all done up for the major boost in my blood! :)

Thanks Philly----------

I put on 2.5 inch exhaust (no cat) and all I plan on doing is a Fresh air KN and MAYBE an alky kit. Everyone says alky is great for knock and cleaning the engine internally.

2.5 pipe is good and K&N fresh air kit is good as well. If your running stock turbo I would not worry about Alky. Alky is good if you want to run allot of boost. I have a Grand National I'm running 20psi with no knock and no alky. Keep in mind that stuff can also thin the oil out and make the bearings not happy! Good Luck with it and post some pictures of it!

Exhaust? I ripped it out of my tta and gn leaving just tailpipes
for the cops to look at. I crimped a short pipe on where the cat used to be
and angled it so it blows down (I learned this after melting the fender well
of the tta!) and you just knocked over half a second off your quarter mile!
There's no air care here so, there's nothing to worry about except the neighbors.

Guys I put on a 3" ATR exhaust. No Cat. Have a 20psi chip from Eric, and fuel pump, hotwire kit, scanmaster, and open air KN.

Wonder what this will help???? Far as performance.

Oh ya, adj FPR.

I think I will put in some gauges for safety, knock, boost etc.

Got to figure out how to adj factory wastegate now. Everyone is telling me its good for 20 lbs boost no more.

Ty

I wouldn't mess around with over 18psi without proper gauges! Especially if your using the stock boost gauge! also watch out using just the adjustable wastegate at 20psi or more. I thought I knew what I was mixing xylene with premium fuel at 20psi and detonated my TTA without all the gauges! Just cause it ain't making the popcorn noise doesn't mean it isn't detonating! Better safe than sorry!
