junk in trunk

Looking at the spare tire stuff and removing it. The scissor jack is an accident waiting to happen. Is there any problem with the old gas inflating bottle I need to consider? The spare donut I may never use as I can trailer this car to and from plus I would rather use a full size spare I got.
That canister(gas filled) looks like it's disintegrating.
They would make nice barn art.

The rubber spacer that goes on bolt and thru spare to hold the canister is sometimes missing. Found mine laying loose below spare.

My rubber spacer thing was missing too, took a few years before I figured out it should be there in the first place ... tracked a couple down some time ago so these days my trunk is tidy :cake:

Just wondered if I needed to worry about that canister causing any damage. For all I know it's been used, I'm taking it out just in case.:explosion:

I have never heard of the canister causeing damage. not even in a crashDontKnow:

If your worried about the canister just let the gas out. I think it's CO2. Not harmful as long as you are not in an enclosed area.

Those canisters were used in even the 70's TAs to save space in the trunk and never heard of one blowing up even in the searing TX heat we have.
