Looking For A Good Turbo Car Mechanic Close To Hazleton, Pa

I brought a worked up 1989 tta last year. The guy I purchased it from didn't know anything about it but had all the paperwork. It was built up in Florida around 2007. It was dyno ed at 600hp.
When the car hits between 18 and 20lbs of boost it looses all boost and blows a puff of black some out of the exhaust. I thought maybe the wastegate actuator was back so I purchased a new 18 to 30 lb actuator but the car does the same thing. If anyone encounetted a problem like this please let me know or if anyone knows a turbo guy Close to me it would be appreciated. Thanks jason
 
Jim Dunn is a great choice. You could also contact "Doc" Paul - a.k.a. 'pacecarta' - on all of the forums, might be a little closer?
He is in Englishtown NJ and knows the high-performance end of these motors.
Good luck getting everything squared away.
 
I talked to him. Seems line a great guy and knowledgable. I am going to try to get my car to him next Saturday for a diagnosis. Thank you
 
I cannot thank Jim Dunn enough. Stopped by his shop today on my way to NJ. He did some house cleaning under the hood then tackled the issue I was having. Thank god he wanted to re-check the coil pack that was previously checked. It passed the resistance test but Jim had a great to tool really check the pack. The coil was failing at high rpm. He hooked me up with a new coil pack and problem solved.
Thanks again for the referrals. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else from now on.
 
Jim & Ed really know this stuff.
They found a bunch of "hokey" stuff on #545 and got me all squared away last year.
Glad to hear that you've got it running well :cool:
