Motor Mount Install NEED HELP

Hey guys,

I'm installing my motor mounts and have got the old ones off the K member and am wondering how am I going to get the nut and the washer onto the bolt without having them fall into the k member or the A arm???

Anyone done this with ease?? It was a horrible time getting the old mounts off, as the bent tool kept falling off and getting twisted and I lost the washers and nuts. Took forever to find them.

Any tips would be great!! Thanks in advance!!!!

Jarred.

When I did mine I had the a-arm out so not bad at all (did new bushings etc after I had all bits powder coated so all apart anyway) but can see it being a pain in the but with everything still together on the car.

So did you change to polu mounts or something else as you took the crossmember pedistals off?

I put in HR motor mounts that I got from jicaju. The a arm was still in place so it was hard to get to the nuts under the frame as the spring was in the way. I had to get my dad to help me torque these in while I was under the car holding the nut still on the bolt.

I posted about this on the other TTA forum. The HR mounts come with a special tool to hold the nuts in place and it makes it so much easier if you use the stock bolt that tie the mount to the saddle. As you have learned, this is a 2 man job. If you need any clarification or have more questions just let me know. I would be more than happy to help where I can.
