My New - Custom Made - Display Stand for Shows

Had a custom display stand made to bring along to shows. Sits under the wheel and comes apart at the base (see photo) to easily transport it and also allows for the info board (frame) to swivel around and then be locked in place depending on how you park up and where people most likely would view it / read it.

Seamless tubes, all powder coated silver, used clear plastic hose on the base "forks" to protect it ...

Frame is a A3 sized "flip frame" so the 4 sides are spring loaded and open up so you easily can swap out the poster in there.

I did a write up of the history, Indy, my specs, quotes from old magazine articles along with some photos. See attached PDF file. Any comments suggestions on the text is welcome.

I've used it at one show a couple of weeks ago and it really pulled in people and was a good way to get people to learn more and ask questions about the car ....

Looks great Jan, I would consider revising the information so that you have a couple sentences at the top introducing the car and then bullet points after that. So something like:

The 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am was built not only to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Trans Am but to lead the cars for the greatest race in the world, the Indy 500. Pontiac wanted this car to stand out strongly and they did just that by implanting GMs fastest engine at the time, the LC2 from the Grand Nationals, into the lighter F-body platform.

History
- First Indy Pace car to require no performance modifications
- First Pace car with an in car camera
- etc
Factory Tech Hightlights
- Rated at 250hp and 340tq
- Crossdrilled Crank for cooling
- Improved cylinder head design
- Dished pistons lowering compression to 8:1
- Increased boost to 16.5 psi
- 12" front and 11.7" rear brakes

Modification
- List mods

Then you could probably put the production numbers in there somewhere and add the media quotes on the bottom. Basically the board should be like a presentation, not a book. Not very many people are going to stand around for 10 minutes while they read the entire thing.

Thanks Jared, appreciate the input / feedback ... agree it did get a bit wordy, like your suggestions so will work on "version 2" of it and see how it turns out ... I'll post it when done just need to get "inspired" to get started

I actually have something like that I had made but when talking to some car show people about it one guy told me over the course of a year 3 people tripped/banged into it and it hit the car or hit them. Sometimes that stuff brings people in too close. Maybe they are different over the pond but over here we get mom and 10 kids with baby strollers banging into the side of your car wondering why you just call them a Fu**in wh0re Other then that I like it

We get the kids and moms with strollers on this side of the pond as well ... but most of them are pretty careful (well so far).

Actually the guy doing the stand took what you mentioned into consideration and you can bump into this one and it wont bend or move at all and can't hit the fender or anything else if turned around so I'm on the safe side .... they guys doing any custom work for me are really good and usually think about everything so in this case the position, the height and the thickness of the tubing used is all carefully planned to be safe at the shows :thumbup:

That's a good idea ... I did look at different dealerships at this end but most of them are stand alone pieces which is fine in a car show room but not on a field in the middle of nowhere Let us know what you find!

Thanks, pretty pleased myself ... same color powder (silver) as my new custom made strut tower brace, valve covers, MAF pipe, up pipe

Front plate is mandatory in this country ... so opted for a GM OEM install ... had all brackets powder coated first and used all stainless fasteners ... looks good but I also prefer the clean "virgin" front bumper :yes:
