no-start condition

TTA579

South Bay TTA "Barn" Find
I don't know what happened to this post, so I'll try again.

Car will not crank/turn over, I just replaced the alternator 2 weeks ago (turbobuicks.com mini-starter as recommended by Jan). Drove the car on Monday, wouldn't start on Tuesday morning. I have and will refer to my service manual, just wondering if there are any "check this" suggestions before I start.

Other notes:
Fuel pump operates, pressure is good.
Scanmaster shows no errors or other codes.

Only if the security light stays "on" meaning passkey failure.

Not saying it's the culprit, but I wouldn't spend any money till you try other typical problems....but keep the VATS issue on the table for now.

I read the article on TGO and it speaks to me. Specifically the 4-minute delay, I had been having troubles getting the car started (intermittently) and waiting seemed to have been the only solution. At first I thought the issue was a hot starter. Instead, if the issue was an intermittent contact inside the ignition cylinder I would still have to wait the 4-minutes due to the anti-theft shutdown.

Luckily I already have all the tools to perform a cylinder replacement, I did one on my '89 Corvette.
