Oil Filter Wrench "Cap Style" Question !

So I picked up one of the cap style filter wrenches (see picture) a while back and when I got it I tried it on a AC Delco PF1218 filter and it fits very well ... however today I tried it on the Napa Gold 1086 filter I tend to use all the time (the store where I got the wrench only sold the PF1218 so could not try it on a Napa filter at the time) and it wont fit (slightly too small) ...

I remember seeing other style cap wrenches in some plastic material (mine as pictured is all metal) so question is anyone have one that fits the Napa Gold 1086 filter properly and can advice on what and where to buy ... I'm out in the US next week so hope to pick one up but don't necissarliry whant to carry a oil filter with me from the UK lol

Here's the discription for the wrench I got already ... and no I don't want anything else as these works very well on out engines (quick to remove the filter and easy to access etc).

Jan, The Cap Wrench from Pennzoil works really good. I had to go to NAPA today and get a filter and had no luck with the cap wrench there.

So I went to Oreillys and they had a Pennzoil 19900 Code A
15 Flutes: 93mm works great.

I will try to post a pic, if this slow server lets me.

Mike, good news ... if it fits the Napa 1086 filter I'll get one as well then next week :-) Thanks for confirming much appreciated ...

For me, on the TTA, the cap fits, but you can use it. I have to use a strap. There isn't enough clearance for a socket wrench.

Jan are you going to the isa sign show in Las Vegas? I am flying into vegas on the 28th.

We got a big user conference starting on the Sunday (1st) and runs all week, so will go out there earlier to see some good ol friends in AZ then be back in Vegas on the Sunday afternoon.

If you are around during next week drop me a line and maybe we can hook up somewhere? [email protected]

I need to double check that, I'm pretty sure it works on mine with the short 1086 filter but thanks for the heads up ... I'll look at the space avalible. I think this filter wrench might take either a socket wrench or a spanner but not sure.

You can use a 3/8" rachet or a 1" wrench on it. Didn't have my car here to try for clearance, still in shop.
