Writing this for my dad, when I take his TTA out, under full throttle, it will spool up then make a loud popping noise and loose power. I noticed when it did this that it did not stop building boost, it went all the way to the redline and then it made the noise and dropped all pressure. Has anyone seen this behavior. I searched the forum, not super indepth but I did look through it and I didn't see anything that jumped out at me. Any help at all is appreciated. I've thought about changing the mass airflow sensor and I've check all the hoses and they seem to be fine.

Sounds like maybe lack of fuel or lack of spark. I'm guessing, usually when the turbo buick motor pops its lack of fuel or bad coil pack. My friends GN popped and it turned out to be a junk coil pack. Mine has popped and I forgot to put the line back on the fuel reg after checking the pressure one time and so it was severely under fueled under WOT, but had enough to drive normally. Maybe check the fuel filter and then make sure the pump is good. They do go bad after 20 years. Good luck
