Pricing on 1989 TTA Indy Pace Car?

Just want to see what you guys think about this opportunity I have. I can purchase a 1989 Turbo T/A with 47k miles on it. It is equipped with t-tops and has cloth interior. It had a transmission replaced as owner claims it would not go into gear. It needs front bumper painted due to a couple scuffs, rear spoiler has usual cracks and it needs a mid-pipe on the exhaust. Buy price is $12,000. Is that a good deal? Everything else is original and in very nice shape. No body work, decals in place. No window sticker. The decal for options is missing but it is a v-6 turbo and decodes that way.

Is this the car in Central Louisiana???? Cloth cars are more rare as only 187 were made. If its not the one in Louisiana I have seen one for sale for $13.5 with the same miles and it looked clean but I never checked it out as I have one already(leather though). I had posted the link in one the Cars for Sale section...don't know if its still there.

Found the link...http://www.selectmotorcompany.com/vehicle_detail.asp?id=280&index=2&go=prev
If interested I will be in that area next week and I would be happy to check it out in person. Provided of course your serious about it.

It is that one. I am seriously looking at it but have concerns as to why they needed to rebuild the transmission at 47K miles. It does look clean but was going to have someone check it out in person.

Trannys are garbage and break easy from what I understand(only had mine a year and I have a tranny noise since I got it). You can also post your inquiry on turbobuick.com as they have more traffic, you may get more input. Good Luck they are fun cars but they aren't the most reliable. I don't even want to say how much I've spent fixing stuff...but thats all part of the game and if you can do it yourself your way ahead! If possible see it with your own eyes....you have to pay for it, I bought mine on Ebay sight unseen and had I saw and driven the car I may not have bought it!

TTA pricing

Looks like a good deal to me...if you can bring it down a bit more due to the tranny question...its awsome...

good luck

I'm new to this site. I purchased the TTA from Louisiana; it should arrive here today or tomorrow. I bought it sight unseen, however the dealer has a very good reputation with some collectors here. Hope it's a good one.

Thanks Roy. It rolled off the truck about an hour ago. Not quite as nice as I had hoped, but not bad. 47.6 on the mileage; $11,600. T-tops and cloth, but I don't think it's a Festival car. Don't know its number yet, but PAS sticker says 3/89 and vin is243831- is that too late to be a Festival car? I received no paperwork or owner's kit with it.
