Proportioning Valve

My answer would be "maybe",so follow me here.... The proportioning valve is very simple in that it has a bias spring that limits bar pressure that the rear braking line sees. But a generic explanation would be it it splits applied pressure 65/35, front to rear. So, do the 1LE rear brakes(PBR calipers) need different bar pressure than the Iron,single piston calipers of the non 1LE brakes?,I would say yes. So maybe the PBR's need a 53-bar spring whereas the cast iron single piston may need a 55-bar spring to maintain that 65/35 brake force ratio I mentioned earlier.
Now...I guess the question is "who do you believe?" in the parts listings of GM vs. Rockauto.....At this point in the replacement parts business I would trust Rockauto because I would *think* GM is only interested in clearing inventory and may have a tendancy to lump these to applications under one part...because they no longer stock both. Whereas I would think Rockauto has access to allot of aftermarket makers/rebuilders who have the correct part....and 1LE specific part.
If it were 1992 I would guess GM would have the different part listings....but I'm speculating when comes to what GM does and has done with thier replacement parts.
