Rear Fluid Question

I had a slow leak in the rear differential originating from the rubber plug on the cover. I pulled the plug and let it drain until it stopped and reinstalled the plug. So now the oil level is flush with the bottom of the fill plug Is that correct? It stopped the slow leak but wanted to make sure thats the right oil level.
