Wondering if there is a one-piece rear main seal for our engines yet.
Also, is there a better option to the rope seal?

Do a search for how to seal the main cap, it has a cavity on each side of it, some use the rubber pieces that come with the seal and nails, while the preferred method seems to be to fill it with sealer. I used UltraBlack on all 3 of mine with perfect luck so far. No 1-piece for these motors due to the design, the part above is a rubber/neopreme seal.

Got it. Should get wrenching on it as soon as I get the door to the shop installed.

There is little room between the cross member and pan, motor mount bolts have to come out then lift engine up as far as you can and place some blocks in the gap between mounts, need at least 2-3 inches. Pan will just clear the flywheel and it needs to rotate slightly to clear the oil pickup. Takes some patience but it will clear with just the right movement of the pan. Also be sure the front crank counter weights are up and out of the way of the pan sliding out.
