Replaced Headlight Trim Rings

I finally replaced the old headlight trim rings or bucket rings. The old ones had a lot of overspray where some not so good painter didn't mask off properly. I found some really good ones that even came with the gold emblem on them.
 
looks sharp!!! I am constantly adjusting those headlights so they are straight with the hood. It will look straight then the more I look I see its off a bit....

Never have been 100% straight with hood. What is the best way too align it really straight.
 
I loosen the bolts holding the headlight braket and move it around some until it looks good then tighten the bolts down. There is also rubber stoppers that hold the hood up and they slide back and forth to adjust the hood a bit. Its tough, never seems straight.
 
Thanks Jarred, I got it aligned a lot better now, still not perfect though. Tough getting it right!!!

I even moved and tightned the hood latch bolts a little more, so I have no play when I press the front of hood when closed.

keep in mind guy's that these car's where far from perfect when they where new, you may have things better than they where to begin with:chat:

Very true. My passenger side droops a little. Tried to adjust it with no luck, but didnt try very hard. It doesnt really bother me enough to fool with it.

Nice work Mike.
 
You guys are going to give me something else to stare at! I will let you know next spring how crooked my lights are.

i've replaced a few things taillight ect..(glad i bought that parts car!) the leather seats are shot so i'm thinking about using the cloth seat's from the 88 gta (flawless cond) i am also giving serious thought to painting it black, was the quote you got include pulling the motor? if so that's a real good price, alot higher around here, i might could get it done for 2-3k if i do all the prep work, but damn that's alot of work and i will be 50 yo next month:wheelchair:

that price was for them to paint and me to pull motor and all the other engine bay stuff. And I dont think it would include a wet sand either. I wouldn't mind doing it but I am thinking of all the stuff that is gonna bread during the removal process and all the hassell of getting it back together.

It is aligned better now, used a clay bar on the car and then used Jax Wax. The hood is like a mirror!!!
