Show Cards....

Hey Guys I am getting ready for the upcoming show season with my TTA and am going to be making a Show Card ( Information Board for the car ) to be used at the car shows that I attend. I would like to see what you guys have so i can get some ideas as to what you have put on mine.

I change it up and switch it around thru the summer. I guess because I have so much crap to display and I don't like to over do it. I've seen some cars at shows and you can't even see any of the car. With the TTA's I feel no one really knows them. So it's better to go a little extra to get the point across and to school people. Most will look at what you have on display and never ask a question, walk away and tell their friend all kinda wrong things about the car.

I made up a sign for the car with the basics that I leave by the nose. That covers just about it all. As seen here..

After my car was in Hemmings I had a frame made and I display that. Sometimes people take a second look once they see the car was special enough to be in a magazine..

I also keep the window sticker and I printed out the information on how many were built. I also took some other clips from magazines and had them laminated and I keep those in the rear in case someone wants more information on the car. I usually keep my hatch closed or barely open to keep the sun from beating the hell out of the plastic back there. We all know how Pontiac's plastic loves to get like chalk from the sun! :crazy:

I also had a plate made with the car number so I display that in the nose to show people it was a Indy car..

And as you can see most people in this area hate the TTA's as they never seem to win trophies :rofl:

Nice pics. I'm going to incorporate one those new animated frames you can get anywhere now. Mount maybe 1 or 2 on a board. The board could be general info and pics the animated frames could show and endless amount of photos and other collectable photos.

Where I moved (4 years ago), no one likes Pontiacs.
If they have one, it's got a transplanted 454 Chevy in it.
I do still go to the local shows here, but never win anything.
They feel the car is too new.

Same around here...the Can am was show stopper though.

But the TTA I bought is for driving. I've had my fill of the show scene.

That's the only nice part about this area. Most of the show judges like a clean, stock, unmolested car. When they see one they appreciate it. There is a guy with a 79 bone stock Ford Fairmont with like 25K on it. It's poop brown with lighter poop brown interior. The car is super clean and he wins all the time with it. Drives some of the muscle car guys nuts. But they know when they see a nice clean car. By the middle of the car show season I keep wishing I don't win. I just threw out all those trophies in that picture! I took that pic and they went from the front of the car right into the trash can! Well I kept a few of the cool ones

There is a guy around here that has one of those '77 ish Mustang King Cobras. It's stunningly well restored with lots of NOS parts. He shows at most of the shows I attend(ed) and gets NO recognition, except from me.Not that a King Cobra is my Mustang of choice, but I know how hard it was to restore one of those and it is the best one I've seen since probably 1979. He's very discouraged to "show" and then watch as some clapped out '71 Chevelle "BIG BLOCK" next to him, painted with what looks like Sears weather-beater house paint, in RED! gets all the attention.
Our cruise in/show circuit is all about the run of the mill '64-72 big 3 muscle cars. No appreciation for rare or low mileage survivors.

I've come to not even enjoy "car shows" because it's like high school.
the biggest mouth wins. A popularity contest...The best car show for my money is Saturday night at the local drag strip.

I like going to the the "cruise in" style, you can come late,leave early and no judging.
I don't like the judging shows. Too much prep work, knucklehead know-it-alls,baby strollers and the often rain-out.

I figured I made it the Pontiac nationals,showed and won....it's time to move on to the fun of actually using the car, rather than it being a 2 ton piece of furniture in my garage.

Nice pics guys! Car shows are fun. I've done them and won a few. At the local pontiac oakland club show I've won first 5 years in a row with in the 4th gen firebird div. And 1st 2 years in row in the 3rd gen div. But I do enjoy the cruise nights more. Just park it put the hood up have fun with your friends, eat, and check out the girls. I really need to take some good pics this year. Of the cars too.
