Smoking from exhaust!

I have blown the head gasket in the past, really bad DontKnow: motor oil was all over the engine bay as well as my rear bumper (I guess went through the exhaust pipes). Long time later, after rebuilding complete motor from bare block, with every seal/gasket brand new, I am still seeing smoke coming out of the exhaust pipes :mad2: I disconnected the dp and motor makes no smoke but ones connected, its smoking from the back. Is it the old oil leftovers smoking now or what can it be? please help :wall:
 
Probably. If you got oil in the exhaust it can take along time to get enough heat in the muffler to burn it out.
 
If you blew a HG then you probably pumped a fair amount of of anti-freeze into your muffler. It'll lay in there for months and won't evaporate on it's own. What needs to happen, in that case, is that you need to get it good and hot and just run the snot out of it till the muffler cooks it away.
 
I thought it would be too, only for some reason it doesn't constantly smoke, it does it in periods of times, I already burned full tank of gas but its still smoking. If it'll take a while for it to burn out ( I could imagine the flowmaster is probably full of oil, possibly) in which case it will take for ever. I am going to take it to the muffler shop and see what they suggest as far as removing the whole exhaust and flushing it or buy a new muffler...or I'll just take it on a loooong ride to California from Miami Fl :WOOT: What a mess, all it took is that one day being stupid and almost 2 years later and near $7K im still in the same nightmare :explosion:
 
I had blown headgaskets last year, and it smoked terrible when the gaskets blew. I would drive it down the road and you could not see behind you for the smoke. And oil went all over the engine bay. Not a pretty sight.

I did have the heads reworked and all new gaskets put on. I cleaned and flushed out the intercooler while it was apart.

It don't smoke any now. Even when it was first put together with the new headgaskets.

Maybe your smoke will clear up, hope it is not another problem.

I assume you cleaned out the I.C ?, t.b?
 
yes I cleaned and replaced everything possible....and today as I was driving to the muffler shop, the car stalled on me at the traffic light (about 2 miles from home), backfired out of somewhere twice as I was attempting to restart it. It finally started, I made it across the street and stalled again, got it started few times again but it staid "on" for few seconds until it didnt start at all and I had to tow it back home :mad2: I dont know what went wrong, last (and only) thing I did to it was, changed the MAF (stock one that I bought used locally) and installed the scanmaster, before that it ran great except for the smoke. What a nightmare! if not one thing, its the other.

Put your old Maf back on, see what it does
 
I thought my fuel pump went out but I tried starting it with starter fluid by spraying it into the tb, did nothing. I am going to put my original MAF back on and also check for spark. Thanks for all the replies.
 
The weird part is that I replaced the MAF last night and then drove the car a lil and it was fine. This morning it wouldnt start, I tapped the ALDL and it started, then I shut it off for a minute, tried to start again and it wouldnt, after several tries and tapping on ALDL (I dont know why I tapped on it but I thought it had something to do with it) and after few tried it finally started, so I drove off and thats when it stalled on the red light and end up towing it back home
