Some people are real derelicts

I went to a cruise in the other night at a nursing home. Its really cool, the old people come out and get pushed around in their wheelchairs and compliment all the cars, free food, prizes, good music, etc. My son went with me and on our way home we had the tops out, playing some 80's music and singing, just having some quality time together.

Some idiot in a Honda ricewad with a huge wing on the back, starts following us, hangs back and then rides my cars rear end so close I cant even see the front grill of the car. This goes on for a while, so we turned into an allotment, thinking he would move on and he still follows us. We get almost home and I got on it a little, we pulled away from him, but started to slow down to turn on my street, he comes flying up behind me, veers off to the wrong side of the road and almost clips my car. I was shaking so bad when I got home. I couldn't believe someone would act so stupid. I dont go around driving my car soliciting for trouble. I'm not a racer, just a cruiser. Never had a road rage experience like that-unprovoked. What a scumbag.

You know the saying, "You can't STUPID!!!"
I can't stand most Honda drivers, their about all the same, triple deck spoilers, and a fart can on them, with kid drivers trying to prove how slow their car is.

The windows were tinted, but I figure it was some kid. You know, they think they know it all and have no sense of responsibilty-not all-but most around here carry a "tude'.

im sure the kid didnt even know what he was reving up at an u could have waxed him at will ... my gf always had people trying to race her in the trailblazer ss ... i was driving it with her one night an got tired of a soltice doing same thing an waxed his ass

Sadly that kind of wanna be racer driving behaviour is practiced quite a bit up here too. The same kind of jerks that speed through parking lots & jump green lights & run ambwer reds if not red. I really get upset when this happens to me on my bike, especially if my Wife is riding with me. I usually slow right to the speed limit when these types are on my tail and hope they pass, sometimes they do not. It can be hard to get rid of them on a series 400 hwy when there is not much option of pulling into a parking lot or side road.
It usually has not been Hondas with me, mostly BMW's and minivans, whats with minivans drivers & the drafting, especially when out on the bike ? Here you can call in the plate if it becomes a real road rage issue, I've never done it yet, so don't know how that works out, but if I had some jerk doing to me what he did, I think I'd exercise that option. He will misque soon enough & damage someone else's ride or worse, hurt someone. Driving like that, they might also be under the influence, so maybe a call for a possible DUI, or up here an Impaired Driver. That would get him all the close driving attention he was looking for in a hurry.

That sort of thing has happened to me before and I was in my jeep. Little punk was messin around on the road and at the stop light/intersection. Then I called the police and then he cut me off and slammed on his brakes. I rear ended him. Luckily I was on the phone when I hit him. The cops came and found that three other drivers reported him for wreck less driving. Turned out it was not his car and he had no insurance and he was 18 yrs old and lived very very close to me.
What a dick. He got fines and the cops just let me go.

What a dick head.

Some crazy dude would see my mom out in town he would follow her real close. So one night I took mom's car to the store. This guy got behind me thinking it was her and followed really close. So when I saw no traffic coming in the opposite lane I swerved over in the on-coming lane slammed on my brakes, he went flying by and I immediately and aggresively swerved back in the lane and right up under his bumper. This freaked him out so bad he was swerving and looking in his mirror. I could see his eyes as big as quarters. He never followed her again. Guess he didn't like the same treatment.:guns:

Uh oh.
He blew by you?
That means he beat your car in the race. ;)
Or so he'll tell his friends. ;)
Try not to let it bother you.

No George-you didnt read my post correctly. I slowed down to turn right onto my street and he came up from behind, swerved and almost clipped my drivers mirror off. That, along with the riding my ass for 5 miles, scared me. You never know what kind of wack jobs are lurking out there. Just glad in the end that my car, my son and myself made it home safe.

I read it right.
He almost took off your door mirror.
In his eyes, like most import racers, he beat you in a race.
In their eyes, their car is faster, and better handling that any muscle car.
It what their thought process sees.

I was taking my daughter to school last month in my 2500 crewcab ... had an old lady drive around me while at a redlight turning just to get infront of me then she slamed on brakes ... I wasnt going fast at all almost hit her first time i ever had to use abs in my truck an it has over 300k miles ... she turnt left like me an droped a child off infront of me I walked to her door an she gave me the finger.... I told the child getting out the car your grandmother almost caused u to get hurt in an accident ... wrote down her tag ... city police said it was state troopers job .... nothing got done abt it!

I've had that happen to me as well. Typically (if it's safe around me and behind that idiot depending on the road I'm on) I'll just let the car slow down to a stop on it's own. Then come to a complete stop in the middle of the road without using the brakes. When your at a dead stop they will go around and be gone and you move on. The only difference is when I personally do this and they whip around me I jab it to the floor and leave them at WOT while I pull away wondering what the hell happened. Been there done that a few times :) The main problem is these kids get their driver license, get some balls behind the wheel, and start to feel over confident with their driving skills. They think they are unstoppable till they plow into something or someone.

I was hit from behind last fall by a young girl who was talking on a cell phone. While there was relatively minor damage to my car, it took till Spring for my back to fully heal. What ever happened really made my right hip painfull as hell. I didn't put a claim in or miss any work due to it, but was really uncomfortable for a lot of months. I am even more aware of tailgaters since this happened, but there is only so much you can do about it. I'd love to slam the brakes on, but the numpty would probably hit me & technically it would be my fault for doing that intentionally. If they can't pass me due to road conditions or traffic & tailgating me at my usual 10 or so k/hr over the speed limit, then I make sure I do the speed limit on the pin. If they can pass, I slow down at the first separated line & let them go. Let them have their accident with someone else.
I know other MC riders that start tossing ball bearings & metal hardware out of their pockets, I'm not into that, but I can understand where the frustration, but it's that two wrongs thing.
I have no good single way of dealing with these idiots, I do have a friend that will drop his truck tire off the road & send gravel & debris flying.
Here's the but, these idiots think they are driving normally, their normal is to draft/tailgate you to either intimidate you to go faster, or they think they are getting to the next red light faster. But, we really don't know what kind of moron we are dealing with. Best not to escallate the situation, because if something actually happens & you trade paint, there are no winners, even if you are in the right, it's all wrong. Just my 2 cents worth.
