Theft prevention ideas

With spring approaching (I think...8-12" snow expected this week), I'm thinking about the car shows this year. I have read some instances of cars being stolen and wanted to know what others have done to prevent/make it harder (I realize if someone wants it thet will get it). Kill switches, alarms, wheel boots, the club (remember that one). Throw em out there....any ideas will be helpful.

As they say in the scuba diving community, you don't need to be able to outswim a shark, just be faster than your buddy.
 
If I were concerned while at a car show I would disconnect the battery. Make it so it takes effort to reconnect. I think the club would be effective too as thieves are not prepared for them these days.

Pull the fuel pump fuse ... if at a show they wont have time to mess around for too long.

Club works as well, I got one but don't use it.

Other option is the good old Trasher chip ... needs the correct sequence (which I will not mention on here) to start ... however low battery condition is not good as it clears a bit set by the ECM ...
 
I have a super secret squirrel way to interrupt a necessary input to the ECM to get it to start.

I can then walk away with the required piece needed, in my pocket....it's a 5 second process too that doesn't draw unwanted attention to enable and disable the car.

I found the idea on TurboBuick and I wont post what I did on any internet forum.
 
So some sort of kill switch/procedure seems to be the preferred approach. Understand why everyone wants to keep their solution a secret so I'll figure something out. Thanks.

Kill switch for ECM, fuel pump, ignition etc...just put them in concealed places. Or you can simply unplug the fp relay right under the hood on the driver side firewall. I wouldn't be concerned too much at a car show, is that where you are hearing about cars being taken?? Hotels around car events are a popular place, but even with all of those, a tow truck can snatch a car in seconds...so that goes back to the boots, club..and I have been known to cable lock the wheels to the axle under the car where it can't be seen. Almost, put your smart phone in the car with location services on, poor mans GPS locator, just hide it real good. My phone has a spare battery in the case so it lasts for a few days when not in use.
