to bird or not to bird...hmmmm

I put blue dot (old 50s Hot Rod thing) in my third brake light lens.
With a spare lens, so just 2 screws, and it's back to normul.

That sounds cool, can you elaborate a bit? Or pics? Does it make your break light a funky purple?

I think that there already enough birds on the 89 TTA. Map pocket badge, side panel, front badge, back break light center. I love the bird, just looks more at home on a 2nd gen black T/A. The BANDIT look, but I also like the 81 Pace car bird. I've seen some of the 4th gens look pretty good with birds on them too.

Here you go,
But not a good shot, this is the only photo I can find with it.
SANY0700.jpg

Basically, I got a spare third gen brake light lens, and drilled (with a dremul) out the center two sections that were centered with the bulbs.
Since the circles were already there, I had a guide.
The biggest part, was finding a set of blue dots with gold surronds.
Usually, they come silver.
I found a set and bought them at a car swap meet.
I have never seen gold ones again.
I have been looking, as I was going to make some for some friends.
I then silconed them into the holes, and let them dry.
The third gen brake light lens now shines purplish when the brakes are on.
As I said, I keep a spare lens, in case I get pulled over.
Anything blue or blueish is against the law.
Yet alot of Hot Rods get away with it.
So far, so have I. ;)

Oh ya, one thing about the photos you posted.
The White second gen, is a 1980 Indy Turbo Trans Am.
Not the 1981 NASCAR/Daytona Turbo Trans Am.
The 1981 has red/black Recaro seats. ;)

I need to get some better shots of the rear of the car, with these blue dots, so everyone else here can see.

Hope this helps,

George :beach:
