What a beautiful GTA!!!!

I'd like to have it, and put the LC2 drive train in her. Bad Ass like TTA850's red ride!

Thanks for the kind words :)

As for this GTA, it has been for sale several times in the last few years. I dont know if it's changed hands or not but the price seems to keep going up. I looked at it a few years back and they were asking around $16-17K, which I felt was a bit high then and is definatly overpriced for the current market.

But with only 366 LB9 5 speed GTA's made in 1989 and it's a hardtop, we all know how rare hardtops were in 1989. Plus unlike the TTA where no mile cars are commonplace and hurt the overall value, how often do you see a fairly rare GTA with this kind of mileage?

The numbers are in this cars favor, of the 8470 GTA's built in 1989 only about 19.5% (1650) were hardtops and 17.5% (1475) were Bright Red. Using those percentages, one could assume that of the 366 5-speed GTA's only around 65 were Bright Red and around 72 were hardtops. When you remove the 1550 TTA's from total GTA production, bringing the number down to 6920 those percentages go up a little, 21% of production being bright red and 23.5% (now 1611 with the TTA's removed) being hardtops, but still make it a probability for less than 86 hardtop and 77 bright red 5 speed cars built. So either way you look at it, this is a very collectable car :)

Never driven a 5-speed version of a GTA, what's it like?

This is one sweet ride!!! :goodposting:

I could buy a 1988 GTA with 6300 miles. It is the dark red color with tan leather interior, digital dash, 350, but no t-tops. The car is perfect. I went to see it. The price was 14,999. I want the car but the only thing that keeps me from buying it is no t-tops.

It's FUN as hell dude!! I had a 5spd 89 5.0 GTA with a K&N and a Banks cat back exhaust. I could out run most 350 tpi Irocs and beat most mustangs in 1/4, I even beat a 88 vette in an 1/8, I could shift those gears in my sleep still to this day. I still miss slammin gears, they actually "feel" faster than a stock TTA IMO.

Surprised you guys weren't drooling over the car just 10 days before this auction when it was for sale for $19,000. Today's market? $13,000 for the car.
