What is this name plate?

I just found this in an envelope with all the paperwork and history on #486 while looking for some information for Jan. I can't believe I didn't see this before in the folder packed with paperwork for this car.
It's a name plate with the first owners name on it, I've blurred the last name for his privacy. It's metal and has a sticky backing like it was to be placed somewhere on the car.
I've never seen one of these, anyone else have one or how they were made / requested or what purpose if any?

That's cool Rob, I remember seeing similar ones you could order and they would engrave your name or whatever you wanted on there.

Wonder if the dealer offered something like that to new owners buying a Firebird at the time; If you change your name Rob you can use it lol.

I wish GM or PAS would have done a similar plaque for our cars with car numbers like done for the 30th ....
