What's the stock torque and hp...Anyone

RatFink

TORQUE
The GM specs say 255 hp and 340 ft torque, from my experience 20 years ago my TTA when bone stock went 13.10 @ 104 car weighs like 3550 with me in it, that says its more like 300 hp and more like 400 ft tq. Anyone have any dyno numbers to confirm?

I found this for the "official" data:

I think TURBO magazine dynoed one back in 1990, but I don't have the magazine with me. I think their numbers conflicted with GM official posted numbers.

I have seen posts referring to internal Pontiac sources saying the actual HP is 301. Based on the weight and performance, even that sounds a little low to me.

I've heard our cars put down 270-280 to the wheels from the factory, but we've always known that the "255" number was low anyway.......that would get you really close to 13.1's

I raced a stock 92 Firebird Firehawk and beat him by half a car. This was in 1992-93. My car had a K&N filter and that's it ( i should add that my actuator was adjusted to 18psi). Even stock chip. Running 93 octane with octane booster. My car would run low 13.00 @ 105 on a perfect pass (plenty of 13.40's all day long). Look at this Test of a Firebird Firehawk... Good comparison because you know the weight is gonna be close and the tires back then were the same, slick-non-hookin up junk. It's tq was 390 and hp was 350. It's 1/4 mile speed was faster at 107 and a 13.20, but from my experience, torque gets there first which would explain beating a formula firehawk, I was quicker , but maybe not faster. And why I say 400 ft.lb. is at least plausible.
