Yeah you are right WS6, that thread was getting a little long winded.(Did we break any records?):clap: The thunderstorms got me again. Here are a few pics; should be done tomorrow. Anybody that is reading this and thinking about changing their turbo; it really is not as hard as it looks. Just take your time. Thanks to everyone on this thread that walked me through this; I could not have done it without you! See you all in Hebron, OH.:drunk:

run into a little problem guys, if you look at pics of new turbo there is no air inlet bell like the old one, so the hard plastic maf tube is short and cocked at a angle. any ideas?
 
How short is it? I was trying to see if anyone sold a longer coupler but I did not find anything.

i didnt find anything neither, 1 inch longer would work , but 2 inch would be better.i noticed the air inlet was diffrent as soon as i took it out of the box, called cottons and they said it would still work, guess they dont own a tta . :disgust:
 
I zoomed in on pic 1. Noticed you have zip ties on your Y on your boost lines.

That is a good idea to have these ties on there, less likely to come off under boost.

I imagine they were on there when your got the car. Somebody had the right idea.

What did you end up ordering? I've tried 2 different intake pipes that were designed for the GN and that includes what I'm using now. I think you will be fine. I've seen many intake pipes made for GN's work just fine on TTA's, just takes some craftiness...

i put the ties on there and changed the vac lines, looking to buy new plug wiresttarider

i ordered the 3 inch chrome integral inlet pipe :read:
 
Rob - that other site had a whole bunch of couplers on there. Maybe just get a longer one for now and later on you could find something a bit more appealing?
 
I would fix it with one of the couplers for now.

When you go to Ohio for the Reunion be sure to take plenty of notes and pictures, because you will see alot of TTAs with different setups. I mean the slightly modified ones.
