Waterfall pictures

For those of you who don't know, I just recently moved to Ithaca,NY for the next couple months. I also just recently got into photography as my secondary hobby outside of the TTA (I can't take it with me everywhere while I'm in college). I've been into photography for about 8 months now and I have very little actual experience, most of what I know is just from reading. All of these were shot within the last 3 days and I'll be posting some more pictures this weekend of some waterfalls closer to where I'm living. For those of you who have never been to this are of the country, I would highely suggest you take a vacation to the area, the Watkins Glen state park is by far the most beautiful 1.5 mile hike I have ever been on. Anyways on to the pics for you guys who can't read very well:

that may be the most beautiful stream ive seen, just look at the shape of those rocks! the base of that one waterfall looks like a big bowl while other areas are very geometrical. very nice pics.

I live about 40 minutes from the Glenn. I visit a handful of times each summer and have been going religiously for the last 25 years. The Glenn gets better and better every year. Nice places to eat too! Last year, I took the TTA and took some sweet pics.

Great pics. I have taken the couple hour drive to watkins glen a few times. I'm gonna be there on monady to hike, and see senica lake. Then I'm off to carlise on thursday for the corvette show.

all but the 2nd photo (taken with a 55-250mm) were with a 50mm f/1.4 again using a circular polarizer to help eliminate reflections on the wet rocks. I was using a manfroto tripod and ballhead, here's the exact combo that I have Bogen / Manfrotto | 055XPROB Tripod Legs (Black) with 488RC2 It's very sturdy and having a good tripod makes a world of a difference.

Seneca Lake is about 1 minute of walking distance from my house. Great Lake. Joe

Great shots Jarad. What shutter speed,f-stop, ASA eqiv. did you use. I'm still making the transition from film to Didgi. Circular polerizer is next on my list. So many hobbies, so little time.

I took them all using shutter priority (TV setting on the camera) at ISO200 with and the shutter speeds set between 1/10 to 1 second. Most of them were set in the 1/2-1 second range. The aperture was set automatically by the camera to achieve the shutter speed that I was wanting.

If you want to know what each pictures settings are, just save each one to your computer and then look at each ones properties. All the info is there.
