anyone with a wideband O2?

hey guys,,,,,

is there any advantage to having a wideband O2 sensor if you are not running a power logger?? I only have a scanmaster.

Any comments on the power logger too/??? I am looking to get a better tune from my car.

You can run a wide band gauge and not need the power logger. I have an AEM gauge type UEGO and used it as a stand alone gauge for tuning untill Eric was able to get wide band chips going and then I was able to feed the wide band 5v output into the ECM and read/log it with directscan. Eric also set those chips up with WOT wide band correction similar to what the aftermarket EFI units do.

So in my opinion it's something that can help you now and be an asset later on if and when you upgrade your datalogging or fuel management :)

My brother just order an Innovate set-up. I'll post, when I see it hooked up and working. I'm definately getting some kind of AFR tool as the next purchase for the TTA.

do u hink plx is better than ML1 ?

We have the LM1 on my sons DSM...never had any problems with it. I have heard of some guys having problems with them and the Powerlogger but don't know what. Several of the MAGNA guys up my way from turbobuicks.com use the PLX and are very happy with them...plus they are about $100 cheaper ;)
 
Innovative LM1 and LC1 WB's get a bad rap,some of it deserved, most of it not. The LC1 is the one that gets deserved bad press.I guess the software in the self enclosed controller can have a bug in it. But the main complaint with that brand is that it loses calibration easily and then needs a "free air" calibration.

I run one,LC1, and have no trouble with it. I think the calibration issues are directly related to the controllers hyper sensativety to ground offsets. So to avoid this one needs to be extremely anal about shared grounds and condition of those grounds.
I mean you cannot run one ground to the underdash metal and another to the engine block. If one did, then there is a chance that the reference voltage could be off due to ground offsets, and this seems to upset the lambda controller.
So the trick is to always use the engine block as the only grounding source. Those of us running the Innovative brand and taking this advice have run them with no trouble.

And remember, there are thousands of LM/LC 1 users with no complaints. The Innovative WB's are generally cheaper and use the over the counter Bosch WB sensor which can be had in 10 minutes at the local Autozone.

Nothing against PLX,AEM et al. They are great choices too, but I find them to be about $50 more per kit,or more.
