My TTA hp and 1/4 expectations

Hello, my TTA has 64k miles runs good trans is built up and shift kit, as of right now the car is stock with cat delete/electric cut out and boost controller running around 18lbs of boost also getting new heavy valve springs how much hp and 1/4 time should i expect?

Soon i will be getting 60# injectors/chip, 100# valve springs, high pressure fuel pump. what will my hp gain and 1/4 mile time be? also whats the max boost i can run with these mods?

and this summer i might get the meth injection kit also... with all these mods how much hp and 1/4 mile gains would i get?

any answers to my questions will be helpful, thank you!
 
Tough to say, the methanol kit will be best mod allowing you to safely turn up boost?

Be sure to tune for zero knock and your first mod should be a scan master.

Yep,...right now, as it sits, you have a high 13 to low 14 sec car...until you have a time slip in your hand that is.

We can internet race all day long and play "I'm gonna do this and gonna do that" but it's just masturbation till you race.

Go race that car,come back with a slip and start whittling away at your ET as you actually tune and add mods.

There's alot of 10 sec cars around that have never seen a staging lane.

That's so false bc it runs low 13s stock, 2nd of all meth injections allow for more boost along with injectors and pump

It won't run low 13's in stock form 25 years later. Wanna bet? $100.

With meth you will be in the 12's...if not faster. I went 12.1 on the stock turbo and meth.

Sure, you can, but how are you going to crank the boost on pump gas? I doubt you see 18 psi without knock on pumpgas. I can't get much past 14ish. With methanol I can pegout my 3 bar MAP though.

If you run racegas then yes, low 13's.
 
To get low 13's you'll need practice and good tires/traction. Obviously your car is faster then 16, these guys are just sayin that your ET is really non existent until you go get a time slip. I've seen guys in very fast cars get crappy ET's due to poor technique and not enough practice. My car should be a lot faster than it is, most likely due to my lack of experience and my poor tune. Until I get that time slip I'm still an 11 sec car...

Paul, I don't think quiky was trying to be a dickburger even though he came across as one. He been on these boards forever and has witnessed numerous kinds of these threads. We are lucky to have him on the boards. Mine would be in pieces if it wasn't for the "next teen model". Hey, he picks on me couple times a week. :fuckkk:

Becareful, don't blow it up. I can run 18# as well on 93 pump gas with low timing. 93 octane not 91 octane... I wouldn't go any higher to be safe.

Alky kit or good gas will be needed to run more boost. You really should get a alky kit and get her up to 22#'s fyi... Stock turbo's like timing too which you will be able to raise with the alky kit and chip. 12.1 et is a realistic goal with stock setup with good gas when locking the TC. Grumpy an Steve C. and a few others have been faster.

Read up a few posts...he said high 13's for your TTA. I think you misunderstood the 16 second comment as I took it as a generalization of the thousands and thousands of "keyboard racers" who are convinced that their cars are quicker than the average car because they "feel" so fast on the street.

I see it at the track all the time, first time out with their cars(LT1,WRX or whatever) and they are stunned at a mid 14 time slip. I mean after all, they bought the free flow exhaust(add 35 H.P.) and the CAI (add 25 H.P) they should be a full 1 1/2 second faster?? I mean that's what they talked about on the forums?

What is being said here is this, as you have told us your car currently sits is a 64K mile stock TTA with a cut out and rebuilt trans, no mention of a looser convertor or anything else. So running pump gas of 2012 vs. 1989 pump gas your car will probably be high 13 car at best.

If your running 18 psi of boost on pump gas alone and you say you have no detonation that'd be a miracle. How do you know you're not detonating?

Like Jason's car my car will knock at about 14 psi so I have to have my alky ramped up around 12 psi.

All your future plans sound solid and I would move the alky kit higher up the priority list. It's more important than the 60# ers and chip.

I would add that if your itching to go racing, run some 110+ leaded until you can get some meth/alky. You'll fry the O2 sensor, but you can buy another. With that kinda octane you should be safe from knock.
 
I would throw in some cheap race gas an turn the boost up a little AFTER you make a run.. NO KNOCK is the name of the game. Learn to drive the car !! One of the biggest things to do !! My daughter raced a lot of my customers cars because they couldn't get a decent time out of it.. She would jump in an the car would run what I said it would. She always made me look good ;-)

Thats how I got business ;-0 !! about 5 years ago we stepped up her combo a little . 9.9s @ 138 in street trim.. Lots of people scratching there heads over that one.

i wood like her to drive my camaro it has a alky inj 598 bbc with rons inj 700 epd heads dry sump vack pump and a liberty 5 speed it is 3600lbs it ran 9.53 at 148 mph small tier shift 6200 60ft was bad 155 389 rear end i bet she wood run 8s in it :thumbup:
