Fuel Pump

Guys,I am having a terrible fuel pump problem. In 2011 my original fuel pump stopped working. I found a pump called HI FLOW that claims to be better than Walbro. I put it in and it worked for a few days and quit. They warrantied it and sent me another one. It quit after a few days as well. I then called them and they assured me that they have excellent pumps. They sent me a 3rd one. It worked fine right away but on the 3rd day I tried to start the car and I did not hear the fuel pump. After several attempts to start the car I then heard the pump and it started. I tried it every day for 2 weeks and it started every time.

This morning i tried to start it after not trying for 2 days. No fuel pump sound and no start. Any ideas?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Ouch 3 times to change a fp! Were there any postings anywhere to substantiate the manufacturer claim? Where is the pump made?
Hard to beat any of the proven pumps used by the turbobuick folks and get them from a proven vendor as there are Chinese immitations out there from time to time.
 
The first time was a PITA but I did a real nice job of making an access door.
Now it takes about 30 minutes.

That's what i thought, post some pic's of how you did if you have any; was thinking about doing the same thing... too hell with taking the car apart for something like that that can be hid....:drop:
 
It isn't possible that there's a bad connection, or a bad wire somewhere, is it?

When you took each pump out, did you try touching the wires to the top of your battery to see if it would turn on?
 
Not taking sides or anything on cutting up the car, but from what I have read unless you are racing regularly, you wouldnt want to cut an access door in a TTA. It can be done, but there are some real hack jobs of 3rd gens posted on the net. It probably would devalue the car somewhat. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah Kymmee that's true but there are amateur's and then there are professional's, like us...;)

There is nothing right about mangling the floor of your car to take out the pump the wrong way. Take the time to do it properly and avoid having a huge hole in your floor.
