Real "tools" On Ebay!!

I gotta share this story!
So I placed my HT TTA on Ebay. Some of you know and followed what I went thru restoring it to it's fullest original condition.
So some dimwitted fool emails me and makes this comment:
"You've totally ruined the value of this car, as they are only original "ONCE" in their lifetime!!! This car should have been put away, not "USED", especially 70,000 miles worth. If you took this car to a collector car auction like Barrett Jackson, I seriously doubt it would bring more than $15,000, and that's ONLY if you have the paperwork to PROVE the cars authenticity.... And RUST was never a real issue with these cars anyway, if you cared for it PROPERLY...

I guess this bright fellow would rather leave a car in it's original terrible worn condition when he finds it, rather than to restore to like new condition??!!
I'm so fed up with Ebay posers!....just had to share :)
 
Wow...this guy can't get enough. He replies again:

NO, I've been the Pres. of the largest 3rd Generation Camaro & Firebird Club going on 17-yrs now and have NEVER seen anyone RESTORE a TTA yet. Because there are way too many low-mileage original examples out there for sale, why WASTE the money on restoring a TTA!!! I will give you this one, you Germans know how to make great cars, but obviously they don't know a darn-thing about collector cars or what or how to restore them. I am part of RM Sotheby's Auction Company (appraising collector cars for auction purposes), as well as a judge for the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Go back to playing with your Koenig Corgi Cars and pinball machines and leave the work of collector cars to us Americans that know how to collect, what to collect, and what to restore, and what not to restore. And none of us here want any of your GARBAGE!!!

What an offensive tool! I'm think this has got to be some lonely person without a life to write crap like this in eBay as though it was a forum:mad:
 
You should post it on the eBay ad on the Q&A section..lol. Sounds like a guy bent out of shape about TTAs. Any way to determine where this guy is from like looking up his ebay id and checking his feedback profiles for anything he may have sold recently and the old ad will tell you his location? I know a guy around here that would probably say something like that and has a similar attitude lol !
 
Funny thing is Robs car is 5 times what mine is.. very good price that you will never see again for A H/t, My car is half that and i'm 20k firm...
 
Wow. I have two comments about this: My TTA is "restored" as in repaint/mostly new interior/emblems/refinished wheels, etc. The only thing AFAIK, that hasnt been apart is the engine. It has some mods but the block is virgin. I would have never been able to afford a low mile "original" one so a restored one worked for me. Fast400, yours is a HT, so there is more "value" there restored or not. Dont get discouraged, its a great example of a TTA.

Secondly, I am selling my 82 V-6 car, it is original and unmolested, and I have had "experts" tell me crap about it. "It wasnt cared for properly, the paint isnt a 10, the chrome has a little pitting", etc, etc. These "experts" IMO are just predators looking for a quick deal to flip for a profit. They love to act like they know more about "your" car than you do. Really irritates me.

I have not tried ebay, but have actually had these idiots on my property, so I dont know whats worse.

I wish he had the guts to tell us which one. I'd love to know so I can steer clear of it.

The internet makes most insecure fools feel ten foot tall and bullet proof. Ignore him.

And he's not a fan of "you German's" either ... wonder where his parents or grandparents came from originally ;)

We all know you did what we all would like to do if restoring a TTA to its fomer glory Bob ... or as Mike put it "better than from the factory" ...

Easy for people to hide behind a keyboard ... and yes would not like to join a club he's part of that's for sure.
 
Hmmm... I guess in this case "tool" is actually spelled starting with a capitol "F"?

Not sure why anyone would spend time bashing a car [and the owner] if they weren't trying to buy it on the cheap?
It is "tools" like that who leave a sour taste in your mouth for sure.
Sorry to hear you are enduring the grief.
 
I would bet my Mother's house that Rob has close to 40k in this car...Hell of a deal.... If i bought another one my wife would shoot me between the eyes...and ya'll would be watching the replay on the ID channel, lol...:eek:

Lol, my wife watches wayyyy too much of that channel! Kinda scares me sometimes!
