Tta Head Lifting?

i know this has been discussed before but I have to ask yet again why the TTA head lifts at a lower power level than the GN head? Is there anything that can be done to support mid 10 sec power and be reliable? How do cometics hold up on the tta heads??? How much do studs etc help??? Thanks fellas

studs do help but I did my best with TTA heads and could not break 10.5 ET. With factory TTA heads and reliability I would not expect to go faster than 11.0 ET. Sure the TTA heads can go faster, but will they hold together???

Well I should mention that the car is on and always will be on E85 always tested. Im planning to run the new dw400 pump. I want reliable 10.80s. Im open to studs. Will cometics help the tta head from lifting?

From what i hear they will but you better hope the bottom end is strong.. a good tune goes a long way but you are still asking a lot of stock heads, btw i doubt there are 20 people in this country that can tell a seat of pants difference between 11.2 and 10.8...
In the end it just depends on how much hands on you are ... the more you play with it the better you get but not many people have the desire to put forth that kind of effort.... but it sure is fun.:)

I'm planning on porting the heads and installing bigger intake valves. It already has a nice roller 212/212 so I'm thinking it will have mid 10 sec power with the 6266 that's on it. I will dial it back though to around 21-22 psi to hopefully be in the 10.89-11.20 range to keep the heads on it

10.80s are no problem for stock heads .. been done on stock head bolts ..

10.50 and below it starts to be a bit of a challenge ... I know of a few 9 second TTA with stock heads but its touch and go with the headgaskets.

if you cut it off at 10.50 and slower .. you can make them live ...

Ive done a few with DOUBLE seal heads and graphite gaskets .. they hold but the problem is the head itself .. not a lot of DECK..

IF you want a TRUE solution migrate to a GN head ... it opens up a path that is not attainable with the TTA head .. that or just be happy with 10.70-10.80 all day long on TTA heads
