2 Photos And 2 Questions

Mark T-TB

Car Crazy from birth
I'm hoping for some insight as to what is going on?
1st photo = plug that I found under the driver's side headlight that is not plugged into anything, and I don't see any other "loose" plugs.
Does anyone know what this is?

2nd photo is what my oil drain plug looks like. there seems to be very little remaining but looks like a thin black layer of something is peeling off... did they originally have some type of integral rubberized coating or gasket? And yes it does seem to seep a little oil from the plug.

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply Rob.
I think that something is funky with the wiring to that foglight, there are some "not o.e.m."-looking wires in that area... but the light works fine. I'll leave it be for now.

The drain plug is magnetic, I was wondering if there was supposed to be something else on the flange area?

I think there was a flat washer on it... don't worry about OEM just find something that fits it while you have it off. That other wire has to be fog light, there's nothing else there that looks like it.

Thanks.
Drain plug picture is from April, I took the photo to ask about it "later" and decided that I'd post it today while I was asking questionso_O I'll take another look at during the next oil change.
The fog light on that side appears to be wired with pieces of "everyday" red and blue wires, but I can't see any of that from the driver's seat:rolleyes:

^^^ Yeah, well apparently not on #545 o_O... and at this point I'm happy with anything that works.

I've moved on to shopping for a new headlight for the other side... low beam out (just ordered from Amazon). Ugh.
Thanks for the help!
