I was woundering what items i really need in a rebuild. My car is past stock and i have a precision converter 3200 stall. I really dont know exact hp, but i think its around 425.So if anyone can give some insight on what i need and what i can slide on would be great . Im looking to spend around 1500 dollars on it . Also if you know anyone near St.Louis who knows these tranny's that would be great too. Thanks guys !!!

Call Dusty Bradford and tell him what your goals are and what $$$ your working with. 256-303-5387. I've heard great stuff about his convertors (PTC) He's a convertor dealer, but I'm sure he would know who to get in touch with for other tranny realted questions. Dad rebuilt mine 4 years ago with more durable clutches and some other stuff, though we didn't replace the stator shaft into the convertor with a hardened version, so when I hit the lock-up switch in third under load, things went BOOM! So, I'm in the middle of having to recondition my trans at this time as well. I'm going to a non-lock, I don't mind gas mileage and the fast guys reccomend them for durability and I'm doing this lousy trans removal one last time. I reccomend putting a slightly deeper trans on it so that you can move the oil pick-up to the rear of the tranny pan. On hard launches the fluid spills to the back leaving the filter up front in the stock location starved for fluid at the time it needs it most. I've heard that this is a mojor factor of the 200 trans going away.

Thanks for the info, i'll give him a call tomorrow. Yeah hopefully i can find someone near St.louis or he'll know one

Julio(Razor) and I were discussing transitional knock and the shifting from 1-2 and a side discussion started as to a common failure of our 200R4's. It was his contention that a major failure is "soft peddling" the throttle to avoid harsh 1-2 shifts and subsequent false knock. Being that the TV cable, when "soft peddled" reduces line pressure and is extremely hard on the trans. He said "to the floor" is the only way to tune and do WOT blasts, and to not roll out a little to avoid a hard hitting shift.

Try Jimmys Transmissions in Mundelein Illinois.
He did my GN trans and lots of guys say hes top notch for this area.
