I could organize the show of your life in Peachtree City, Georgia (just 30 minutes south of downtown Atlanta. I can handle over 30 cars on my property and can handle 200 plus at a very nice venue less than one mile from my home. I could arrange for laps around AMS, Atlanta Motor Speedway, etc. There was talk about this type of event nearly 8 years ago and nothing became of it due to lack of attendance. I am open minded to having/organizing such an event. The key is attendance. 100 plus cars...worth it. 20 cars....why bother.

Sounds like a great idea.INDY would be the holly ground, but when you got biggdoggtta willing to step up AMS sounds good to me.

Give this thread until the end of June to count all the players that would like to attend the event. It will be interesting to see how many owners step forward. I like the Indy idea as well. Someone in Indianapolis will need to step up and take the lead.

I'm up for it even if I for obvoius reasons can't bring TTA #1078 .... as long as I know ahead of time to plan to fit it into my schedule I should be good.

Rich, any chance you would be able to display your rare items and talk us through some of the stuff? Unless you sold it all off already?

Jan,

Still have the entire collection. It will be on full display and I would also plan of Scott Kelly attending for the weekend. I will attempt to pull in all the players to include Jeff Kruger, from Triad, and his bosses at the time; Mike and Chuck. I would even give Jeff Beitzel a call, to come and see his old convertible. The same would hold true if we hold it at Indy.

I'd be more than happy to help arrange things in Indy. However, I'm going to be in NY from August until December but we should still be able to get everything in line before hand. It looks like I'll be staying in this area doing detailing on the side for this summer so I should have some free time that I can take a couple trips down to Indy to arrange things.

I think that it would be great if we held the show at the museum, it's at the track and we could talk with them about getting some different accommodations like a lap around the track, having the actual pace car there, and maybe a few other things. I know of a few hotels in the area that tend to cater to car show groups. We could even set it up so that we could rent the local go cart track for one of the nights for some friendly (haha) competition.

We really need to figure out a date first, we need to consider things like other Trans Am and Buick events people will be attending, school schedules, and holidays that people will have plans for. I think some time in June or July will work the best.

Maybe we can start another section on the forum devoted to this show so that we can have several polls and threads of information and ideas about the event. We've still got plenty of time to plan, so we can put a lot of things up for vote.

I think it would be appropriate to have it at Indy where the car paced...and besides they're set up for it, and like to cater to these type of events.

The earlier you set a date and location, the better for me. I can't guarantee anything because we have already have a few things planned for next summer, but I will always attempt to.

Glade to hear alot of us want this to happen , thats great !! Also the idea of having a spot just for this thread is a great one . That way we'll know how many of us are going and where everyone is staying and so on . Lets make it happen!! I'll be there with my car for sure.

I would definitely attend just need to know in advance so I can plan around it.:hooray:

I'm up for Atlanta or Indy. Sounds like a fun time and could even make a magazine! Is there a dragstrip near any of these places? I need to linem'up with Quicky One!
:clap::headbang::burnrubber::cheers:

I think we should try the Indy idea first, if that dont pan out then we can go somewhere else. Thats the place the car was made for and it would only be right to have it there if it is posssible to do it there. Hopefully we can find out some info about it soon . Still think that someone should create a spot here just for this event . #24

I like the indy idea too. But if that doesn't work out, how about the T/A nats. I can work something out for that, as i currently stay at a huge Pontiac fans property during that weekend. He and his wife do a BBQ and and are vary hospitable with 5 acres. Can talk to him about it. Also '09 will be the Nats. 25th anniversary as well.

I think the 09 TA Nats are still up in the air. Last I heard they're still looking for a new location since after this year the hotel will be destroyed and they won't be able to hold the show at that location anymore.

Something I would like to piggy back off of is the Pontiac Nationals, they're very open to working with groups and giving them their own area on the show field and letting them have their own show classes. There's a lot things to do in the area, lots of hotels, and with 1000+ cars drag racing and car show there's plenty to do during the show. They also have some of the best hospitality out of any show I have ever been to.

I know it's kind of short notice, but Scott Settlemeire from GM is helping organize this event http://www.indycamaro.com/Indy08/showindex.htm they're going to be releasing the production Camaro at the show, you get a lap at the track. Scott said if there aren't atleast 1000 f-bodys he might take up smoking again. We could just piggy back off the show. I know it wouldn't be the 20th anniversary but it's a great event that we could tag along off of.

That looks pretty cool. Can't make it this year, but I would try to next year for the 20th.

I would do everything I could to attend. We just need to get a date and location nailed down. I am in Austin Tx and know of a few TTA owners that would want to go too. Indy is choice #1 but just about anywhere could be #2 in my book.
