Today I was out playing around when noticed 2nd gear slipping a little. This condition only got worse before I could get it home.Obviously gonna need rebuilt!Who would you suggest? My plans are to run low 11's before year is out. Will I need a race tranny or can this one handle the extra duty?

PLEASE, do yourself a favor and bring it to someone who specializes in this tranny. I didn't over two years ago, and am still paying. The origional person who rebuilt mine put the wrong converter, and it ballooned. The next guy rebuilt the tranny, but since the converter ballooned I needed an engine rebuild. I hope to get my car back next week. Good luck.

You need to get the clutches replaced before you do worse damage. I had Coan Transmissions and converters in Kokomo, IN do mine, and they did a fine job.

PS TTA's need to have about 1/2 quart extra tranny fluid in them so they do not starve under hard accelleration.
