80 turbo trans am

hi ya i have a 80 smokey t am it was licenced and on the road in australia i have had the car for about 5 years now slowly resoring it to drivable condishion never ending money pit ( worse than a boat ) ha ha!!
anyway i am wanting to find out how many of these bandits were produced told it is a 409 small block factory turbo has all the decals the vin number 2w87 A l 146279 can any one tell my what the build number was for that car if it is a original turbo
can ya get any ally inlet manifolds to sute that motor and looking for a front clip if any one can help that would be great thanks mike

They made 3444 SE turbo T-top cars and only 103 SE hardtops.

Motor will be 301 cubic inches.

And the best way to confirm if it's a real SE is to run it through Pontiac Historical Services...but a good indicator will be to look on the data plate on the driver's side firewall...it should have a Y84 code there.

No way to tell what the build number is in 1980.
 
hi ya yer thanks for the info mate ,,, it is a good solid car had a 82 t am 305 put a 400 small block and turbo 350 trans in it thatwas total restore project had it for 16 years and just sent it to a new home miss it low and fat try lad a photo 4 yas
i have got to get some parts that either are too expencive in oz or just cant get
do ya have a web sight for the pontiac historical sersices sight ????
e bay is a rip off know any one with parts i could trust ????thats from oz mike

Are you a member of the Australian F-body club on the internet?
They have a few members that come out to America every other year, and they buy cars and parts, put them in a cantainer, and ship them back down under.
That would be your best bet for getting parts.
