It's not so much the block as it is the heads that are better, just look at the flow numbers of LS heads and you'll see where the power is. If you want an iron block go with a 6.0L LQ4 from a truck and slap a set of GM L92 truck heads on it, 330cfm flow for under $1000 :)

Heres the twin setup i run on my 88 gta. No times yet but this spring should be interesting. As it sits now, rolling on to the throttle the car boils the tires at 140km. Should be good for 9s if i can get the power down.

That's an awesome set-up! I think I have seen this car in another forum. Do you have any more pics?
 
i really dont think so ... grumpys daughters car ran 9'swith a/c pump gas on a 2004r with a real street car. there are 9 sec single turbo trailblazers lol.

Honestly it will run what it runs. Im not building the thign to be a drag car. Its a weekend cruizer that can be thrown around. Last thing i wanted was a purpose built drag car.
